Details EF230 Ebb and Flood Kit Product Details: The EF230 Ebb and Flood systems are a classical flood and drain kit where a planter table full of clay pebbles sits on top of a nutrient reservoir which floods and drains the planter table every time a timer engages the water pump. As the table floods, the plants take all the water and nutrients they need. All stale air is expelled from the root zone then, as the solution drains away, fresh oxygen is pulled back down directly to the roots. Ebb and flood systems are very popular as they give you a great amount of versatility with how you want to grow your plants. How many times to flood and drain the EF230 system will vary depending on the size of your plants. In the beginning when plants are small 4-6 times a day for 15 minutes a time will be fine. As plants gain in size you need to gradually up the number of feeds so by the time your plants are fully flowering you would be flooding and draining 10 to 12 times a day for 15 minutes a time. Check the video tab to see how to set up an EF series flood and drain kit. The video shows the EF120 but the approach is the same regardless of which size Ebb and Flood system you purchase: Keeping a dedicated flood diary is the key to massive growth and yields. Note the number of floods compared to the amount of solution needed to top-up the system each day. The amount of solution used is directly related to rate of growth; maximise consumption and maximise growth. By experimenting with the number and duration of floods, growers will find the optimum number of floods for their growing environment. The flood diary can then be used as a guide to take the guesswork out of growing and achieve bigger yields time after time. Top Up your tank every few days with half strength nutrients to keep it at an optimum level.
